Job description

St Catherine's is a small national charity, based in Ventnor, which runs a residential special
school for children and young people with speech, language and
communication needs and associated conditions.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist who wants to develop their career, skills and knowledge by working in a specialist educational setting for 7 - 19 year olds.
The school also has a Post 19 provision with therapy support. You will enjoy the chance to work within a supportive team with a small but complex caseload, where you will be able to strongly develop your assessment and intervention skills. You will work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team of teachers, SLTs, OTs, learning support assistants and care staff, with class groups, smaller groups and with individual children. If you believe you can help our students to fulfil their potential at school, at home and in their communities and are looking for a fresh challenge or getting started on your career, then this role may be just what you are looking for.
Applications are welcomed from newly qualified or experienced practitioners. Applicants should be highly motivated and passionate about supporting students with SLCN to access education and to develop their functional communication skills.
Applicants must be registered with HCPC and RCSLT and have experience or an interest in
working with;
• Children with complex communication difficulties
• Learning difficulties
• ASD, ADHD and social communication difficulties
• The implementation of AAC including signing.

Salary details: Salary is commensurate with experience. Available as a full-time or part-time

TEACHING ASSISTANT <30 hrs per week)
Salary details: £13,166
We require an enthusiastic individual to work as a Teaching Assistant, helping teachers and
therapists to support students’ learning in the classroom. The successful applicant will have
knowledge of child development, good communication skills, a ‘can do’ attitude, team-working skills and the ability to work in a self-motivated way.
