Location: Central Wight (multiple sites)
Hours: Full and part time roles available up to 37.5 hours per week. Shifts 8am - 4pm/4pm - 11pm (in addition may include wakeful sleep until 8am), dependent upon location.
Days: Full time roles: 5 days from 7, weekends included on a rota basis plus 1 wakeful sleep per week once fully trained, rota scheduled at least two weeks in advance.
Duration: Permanent (bank positions also available)
Working with vulnerable young people within a residential environment to enable them to achieve a pathway towards independent living, through support, advice and encouragement.
Working towards desired outcomes on standards and individual, person-centre plans.
Responsible on a lone-working basis* for the day to day running of the Home of a small group of 16 – 25 year olds, assisting residents with domestic living skills including cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, liaison with other agencies, signposting, booking appointments etc. in addition to personal welfare, organising enrichment activities and providing transportation to an from appointments.
One to one Key worker support, building relationships, trust and proactively promoting personal development.
Identifying and mitigating risk, using initiative to instigate early interventions, problem solving and if necessary assisting in crisis management.
Maintaining records daily, weekly and on an instance by instance basis.
Adherence to health and safety and safeguarding regulations in addition to upholding company policies.
Being committed to own personal development and training and the growth of the business.
Training, mentoring and development is offered and supported including the potential to progress as the business expands.
*dependent upon shift and location, “on call” supervisor and directors contactable if needed.

Must be dedicated and motivated to help others achieve to the best of their ability.
Must have excellent communication and listening skills, be approachable and have a good level of initiative and high level of integrity.
Must have experience of problem solving and resolving difficult situations or conflict.
Must be calm and able to work within a sometimes pressurised environment.
Must have a good level of computer literacy and the ability to undertake administrative tasks.
Previous experience of supporting young people and relevant qualifications are ideal, however other backgrounds who can demonstrate the above skills may be considered dependent upon the candidate.
Must hold a full driver’s licence and own transport able to be used for business purposes.
DBS Clearance will be required for the successful candidates.
Salary: £9.00 - 9.50 per hour dependent upon experience plus benefits and mileage (sleeping hours paid at NLW)
