Job description

27.5 hours per week Monday to Friday Term time only Grade 3 £11,798 - £11,955 per annum

Starting in January we are looking to appoint someone to provide support to pupils with special educational needs. You will be part of a team of LSAs working under the close direction of class teachers and the SENCO. You will need to:

  • have recent experience of working with children with special educational needs within a school setting
  • possess the skills and ability required to impact positively on the progress and outcomes of pupils with a range of conditions and special educational needs
  • have expert knowledge of how to support pupils with speech, language and communication (the ability to deliver Elkan, Talkboost and Makaton would be an advantage)
  • be passionate about supporting children to develop independence and confidence and believe they can achieve their very best
  • be able to work effectively with children across the school's age range and confidently adapt the curriculum to meet their needs
  • demonstrate strong behaviour management skills whilst remaining calm, patient and positive
  • have GCSE Grade C English and Maths or equivalent
  • understand and apply confidentiality and safeguarding expectations
